When I record audio for my presentation the .wav files are very large. How can I compress my audio to make it smaller for Internet viewing?

One thing to note is that when the presentation is published the .wav audio files are automatically compressed via the .mp3 format (although they will appear in the .swf format). This greatly decreases your published presentation size and optimizes your presentation for viewing over the web. When you upload your courses to your web-server you don't need to upload the .wav files. In fact, all you need is the "Presentation_Files" folder that is created when you publish a presentation. If you point your users to the index.html file within that directory, the presentation will play without problem. If the general compression doesn't compact the presentation enough to meet your needs, there is another option within the program that will allow you to decrease your file size even further. If you go to the Swift Presenter menu in PowerPoint and click Options you will be taken to an Options menu where you can adjust sound quality. You can experiment with the different settings to see if one of the lower settings will fit your sound quality needs. As a general rule, the lower the setting, the smaller the file size. | |
